Hawkeye Community College
Posted on May 4th, 2022
The $500,000 award from BHCGA will fund Hawkeye Community College's Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) Training Center. As an innovative training provider, Hawkeye was one of the pilot schools chosen by the SACA to test automation standards. This grant will allow Hawkeye to create a regional SACA Training Center in Waterloo to meet the manufacturing training demands with Industry 4.0. The Training Center will be housed at Tech Works, where Hawkeye already has an IGNITE manufacturing program.
In addition to being identified by SACA, Hawkeye is a leader in Iowa with 15 Registered Apprenticeship programs and over 300 apprentices. The Learning Resource Network (LERN) recognizes Hawkeye for numerous career pathway programs, including program development, business, industry, and community service. Hawkeye is also recognized for working with veterans by receiving Best for Vets, Military Friendly, and Military Advanced Education and Transition college awards. This population may benefit from SACA training.
