The BHCGA Board of Directors typically meets on the third Monday of the month at the time and location listed below. 

Please note that meeting dates and locations are subject to change based on scheduling needs or other circumstances.

Black Hawk County Gaming Association Board Meetings are open to the public, in accordance with Iowa Code, Chapters 21. Changes to the information posted above will be updated at least one week prior to the meeting date. Board agendas are physically posted at least 2 business days prior to any meetings on the front window of the Union Block building at 114 E. 4th Street per Iowa's Open Meeting Laws.

The BHCGA Board of Directors may attend other social events or learning opportunities throughout the year, such as the BHCGA Annual Celebration or Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission meetings. Community matters may be discussed among individual members, but no official action will be taken. 

 

Public Participation

Members of the public may request to present information to the Board. To do so, prior approval is required, and the individual must be included on the official meeting agenda. Applicants are not encouraged to request to present information about individual grants; as a general rule, all applications are expected to stand on their own merit during the review process. However, at the Board's discretion, a personal presentation may be requested if a project is particularly complex or involves complex/unique extenuating circumstances. 

Requests to be added to the agenda must be approved by the Executive Director at least one week in advance of the scheduled Board meeting. 


The BHCGA Finance Committee meetings also meet criteria for open meetings in accordance with Iowa Code, Chapter 21. These meetings typically take place at 2:15 PM immediately before BHCGA Board meetings, on the same date and at the same location as listed above. Agendas will be posted with board meeting agendas at least 2 business days prior to the meeting. If there is no business for the committee to discuss and the meeting is canceled, an agenda will not be posted.
